The JAG Industrial and Marine Services Heritage is the foundational entity of the JAG Marine Group, JAG Industrial and Marine Services stands as a pioneering force in the U.S. shipbuilding and marine repair industry. With a legacy spanning over a decade, JAG boasts a rapid growth trajectory, underpinned by a collective 150 years of marine repair, shipbuilding, and industrial manufacturing experience.In 2018, JAG further expanded its horizon with JAG Alaska Inc., Seward Shipyard, taking the helm of a significant 11-acre shipyard in Seward, Alaska. This expansion has enabled JAG to serve a diverse array of maritime sectors, including commercial and private fishing, shipping industries, Alaska’s ferry system, and support vessels for oil and gas industries, as well as servicing U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels. JAG’s commitment to quality and excellence echoes across its diverse operations, upholding a rich tradition in America’s maritime industry.

The QP1 Accreditation allows JAG WFS to conduct and inspect all Critical and Non-critical Navy Preservation Work Items by the FY25 NAVSEA Standards. JAG WFS employs two NACE Level 3, Senior Certified Coating Inspectors and three NACE Level 2 Certified Coating Inspectors. Additionally, two Quality Control Supervisors are present at JAG WFS. These individuals can oversee and perform quality work globally per the NAVSEA Standard and ISO 9001 provisions.

FIELD APPLICATION OF COATINGS COMPLEX STRUCTURES SSPC – QP1

The SSPC QP-1 Certification signifies that an organization’s industrial paint crew meets the standards to apply coatings to complex industrial and marine structures IAW the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP). This AMPP certification considers various factors, such as the organization’s proficiency in management, production, quality control, and compliance with safety, health, and the environment. This certificate cannot be achieved without a thorough audit by AMPP that ensures the organization has met all of the requirements. The QP-1 Accreditation is required to perform CRITICAL work items requiring Government Checkpoints on Naval Vessels IAW SI 009-32

The QP1 Accreditation allows JAG Alaska to perform and inspect ALL Critical and Non-critical Navy Preservation Work Items Per FY24 NAVSEA Standard items. This also opens opportunities to include staging and containment on items that require these services. JAG Alaska employs two NACE Level 3, Senior Certified Coating Inspectors, and three NACE Level 2, Certified Coating Inspectors. JAG Alaska also has two Quality Control Supervisors on-site. These personnel can globally manage and conduct quality work IAW ISO 9001, NAVSEA Standard items.
